Dr. Covan is a graduate of Escambia High School in Pensacola and went to college at Birmingham-Southern College, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He then attended dental school at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in Birmingham. While in dental school, Dr. Covan also earned a master’s degree in Public Health.
In 1989, Dr. Covan returned to Pensacola to embark on an exciting career in dentistry. He is an active member in many leading dental organizations, including the:
- American Dental Association
- Florida Dental Association
- Escambia-Santa Rosa Dental Society
- American Academy of Craniofacial Pain
- Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)
In 2006, Dr. Covan received his Fellowship award in the AGD and, in 2011, he attained the title of Master in the AGD. Less than one percent of all general dentists have reached this level of achievement.
